Project Area: 348 m2
Location: Pretoria East
A monolithic concrete tectonic mass that seems to float above floor to ceiling glazing elements almost un-hindered gives the northern facade clarity with it's clean linear boldness of the simple architecture externally.
A less is more design approach is evident on all facades of this characteristically modern contemporary family home. External materials are kept mostly in their raw form whereby the concrete techtonic mass is seemingly 'cut through' by the more textured rustic brickwork and natural packed stone elements creating a destinct contrast between the two predominant building materials used throughout the homes structure.
Uncluttered open plan living spaces are all grouped together around one another with seamless indoor to outdoor transition onto a pool deck wrapped with a timber sundeck and garden court.
Private more intimate bedroom spaces are located on the upper floor each boasting with their own private covered balconies capitalizing on elevated northern framed views of the exspansive housing estate where this single family home finds itself.
Strong defined linear lines dominate the aesthetic giving the architecture a bold statement in a landscape of more traditional estate homes.
